Expedition Canada Kit List

All specialist items of camping equipment will be provided by the host support group or Bushcraft Expeditions.

Bushcraft Expeditions is aware that some items of equipment are environment specific and may not be used again. This can add considerably to an expedition cost. To that end wherever possible we will provide that equipment inclusive in the price for use on our expeditions.

Those items are as follows:

  • Tent
  • Mosquito net (where necessary)
  • All canoe equipment including canoe buoyancy aid (PFD), Canoe/portage bags and waterproof canoe barrels

(This equipment will be loaned to expedition members on arrival in Canada)

Clothing you will need to bring:

  • Light weight "Cargo" type trousers (2 pairs)
  • Long sleeve cotton shirt (2)
  • Walking socks (3 pairs)
  • Large brimmed sun hat or similar
  • Underwear
  • Light weight wellington boots
  • Belt
  • Evening/relaxation wear
  • Shorts
  • Swimming trunks
  • Towel
  • Cotton “T” shirt (2)
  • lightweight boots (for when ashore)
  • Underwear
  • Warm fleece or similar (the evenings can become chilly)
  • Rain wear (Trousers and jacket)

Equipment you will need to bring:

  • Rucksack or Holdall (65-70 ltr)
  • 3 season sleeping bag
  • Small travel pillow (optional, but recommended)
  • Water bottle (1 ltr min) and mug
  • Fixed blade sheath type knife
  • Small pocket knife
  • Whistle
  • Compass
  • Lighter
  • 10 metres of strong nylon cord
  • Note book and pencil
  • Wash bag and toiletries
  • Head torch and spare batteries
  • Towel
  • Personal Medications
  • Small personal medical kit containing plasters, aspirin etc
  • Lip salve
  • Sun block
  • Mosquito repellent
  • Water purification tablets or Iodine (Sufficient for 8 litres a day x 10 days)
  • Passport
