



FOUNDATION COURSE (7 DAYS)
The Bushcraft Expeditions Foundations Course concentrates on the general bushcraft skills that allow you to live at one comfortably with your environment. We will guide you through the many key areas of general bushcraft, perfecting them as we go. At the end of the course you will have a greater understanding of the natural world around you, be able to harvest its many resources and learn how these resources can be used to make your stay in the wilderness a more enjoyable and rewarding experience.
During the course we will cover the following subjects:
- The safe use, care and maintenance of cutting tools
- Contemporary outfitting and shelters
- Primitive shelter construction
- Primitive and contemporary fire making techniques
- Food from nature, its identification and preparation
- Natural cordage and binding material
- Hunting and trapping methods
- Astro and solar navigation techniques
- Camp cookery
- Water, its procurement, preparation and storage
- Primitive and contemporary fishing methods
- Camp hygiene and sanitation
- Introduction to wood carving techniques
- Introduction to tracking and nature awareness
