Junior Foundation Course

The Bushcraft Expeditions Junior Foundation Course is for those too young to attend the senior course but old enough to attend a course unaccompanied. During this five day course we will kindle the interest of the students to the joys of Bushcraft. This course is designed to be fun and interactive whilst teaching the students a respect and understanding of the natural world around them. Over the five days we will cover an introduction to the following subjects:

  • The safe use and maintenance of cutting tools
  • Contemporary outfitting and shelters
  • Primitive shelter construction
  • Primitive and contemporary fire making techniques
  • Natural cordage and binding materials
  • Navigation and orienteering techniques
  • Camp cookery
  • Contemporary fishing methods
  • Introduction to wood carving techniques
  • Introduction to tracking and nature awareness
  • Camp games and activities
  • Nature Studies

(For the Junior Foundation Course the age range is 11 to 17 year olds. See course calendar for dates).
